New-Home Price Average Rises in Orange County
The average price of a new home in Orange County was $256,043 in May, a slight increase from last year’s average of $255,989, TRW Real Estate Information Services reported Friday.
Home sales were brisk in May, a traditionally strong month for home buying, said TRW, which counted 4,261 homes sold in the county in May, up 9% from 3,910 in May, 1989, and 8.6% from April’s 3,923.
The TRW survey tracks both new and resale houses and condominiums.
County home prices have been flat for the last several months, in contrast with last year, TRW said. Prices did rise 2.4% between May and April, when they averaged $250,081.
