Easley Is in Good Condition After Transplant
Former Seattle Seahawk Kenny Easley was in good condition Friday after receiving a new kidney at the University of Washington Medical Center.
Easley, 31, who played safety for the Seahawks, was resting comfortably after the 2 1/2-hour operation that began late Thursday. His condition was changed from serious to good Friday afternoon. He is expected to be released from the hospital in about 10 days.
Easley, a former UCLA star, had been in renal failure for two years and was undergoing kidney dialysis three times a week. His seven-year NFL career ended in 1988 when an irreversible kidney ailment was discovered during a routine physical.
