18-Month-Old Boy Injured in Shoot-Out

An 18-month-old boy was in stable condition Friday at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center after being shot in the right thigh during a gang-related shoot-out in East Los Angeles, officials said.
Bryant Von Shoeneich was shot around 7:20 p.m. Thursday while playing in front of his baby-sitter’s house, Sheriff’s Deputy John Ashley said.
Ashley said two men, who are still at large and believed to be gang members, exchanged eight rounds. The boy was playing directly behind the suspects when the gunfire began, Ashley said.
