RESERVATIONS: The convention here almost never happened. . . . When California last year banned some assault rifles and added a 15-day waiting period for sales, angry members demanded the convention be moved. The leaders refused. “Our being here is a way of showing we’ll stay and fight for our rights,” said NRA Chief Executive Officer J. Warren Cassidy.
