A 19-year-old Buena Park woman was thrown from a car and killed when two vehicles collided at an intersection just south of Cal State Fullerton early Sunday, police said.
The victim was identified as Heather Vigil, coroner’s deputies said.
Two others injured in the 3:27 a.m. crash were taken to St. Jude Hospital and Rehabilitation Center for treatment, police said. Kimberly Avery, 20, of Fullerton was hospitalized with a minor skull fracture and Ronnie Williams, 35, of Brea was treated for minor cuts and released.
The collision occurred at the intersection of State College Boulevard and Chapman Avenue when the westbound car carrying the two women hit Williams’ northbound car, Fullerton Police Sgt. Neal Baldwin said.
Baldwin said it appears likely that one of the two drivers ran a stop light. Investigators were still trying to determine which woman was driving at the time of the accident, he said.
