I was appalled and disgusted by Connie Chung’s interview with Gene Wilder on her May 7 special. Her questions to Wilder were inane and embarrassing. “Do you miss her?” (referring to his deceased wife, Gilda Radner). “When will the grieving end?” Give me a break! Who wrote this stuff? If it wasn’t Chung, doesn’t she check her script before going on the air?
Chung’s facial expressions during the Wilder interview were pathetic. Even my 12-year-old son noticed it. Every time the camera panned to her, she had some pitiful, phony, scrunched-up look. Her reactions were obviously choreographed to when the camera was on her and totally not believable.
I know it is my choice to watch a given program. I just get enraged when I see this kind of overpriced incompetence dumped on me.
