SOUTHERN SECTION BASEBALL PLAYOFFS : Coin Flip Puts Tustin at Home Against La Quinta

Top-seeded Tustin High School won a coin flip and will play host to La Quinta Friday in the quarterfinals of the Southern Section 3-A division baseball playoffs.
Ten county teams have survived two rounds of playoff competition in three divisions. In another all-county matchup, Marina will play host to Mater Dei in the 5-A division.
Quarterfinal winners will move to alternate sites for Tuesday’s semifinals. The championship rounds will be played June 2 at Anaheim Stadium.
The quarterfinal pairings, with all games beginning at 3:15 p.m.:
5-A Division
Westlake (27-1) at Bishop Amat (18-9); Mater Dei (20-8) at Marina (14-12-1); West Covina (19-6) at Thousand Oaks (11-8); Diamond Bar (19-8) vs. Katella (22-5) at Boysen Park.
4-A Division
Canyon (14-12-1) at San Luis Obispo (21-4); Upland (23-4) at Paramount (16-4); Glendora (23-6) at South Hills (22-5); Covina (20-7) at Troy (16-9).
3-A Division
La Quinta (21-8) at Tustin (24-3); Hesperia (18-8) at Ontario (18-8); Saugus (20-5-1) at La Serna (25-5); Montclair (16-7-1) at Orange (17-10).
