ANAHEIM : Motorcyclist Dies After Ramming Van
An Anaheim man died Wednesday when he plowed his motorcycle into the back of a van while he was driving along the Orange Freeway faster than 100 m.p.h., police said.
John Sentino, 24, was traveling north near the Chapman Avenue off-ramp in Orange at 1:50 a.m. when he failed to notice a Dodge Caravan ahead of him, said California Highway Patrol Officer Angel Johnson.
Without applying his brakes, Sentino rammed into the van. At impact, he flipped off his Kawasaki Ninja motorcycle, flew about 40 feet in the air and landed in the center divider, Johnson said. Sentino was not wearing a helmet. No one in the van was injured.
Sentino was taken by ambulance to UCI Medical Center in Orange, where he died about 10 a.m. from massive head injuries, hospital spokeswoman Fran Tardiff said.
