Ormsby, of Roseville, Calif., drove his Castrol GTX top fuel dragster to a final-round 5.157-second elapsed time at 279.50 m.p.h. to defeat Gene Snow of Ft. Worth, Texas.

Force, of Yorba Linda, Calif., beat Richard Hartman of Laverne, Calif., in an GTX Oldsmobile Cutlass funny car, driving 5.452 seconds and 268.09 m.p.h.

Morgan, of Newark, Ohio, streaked to his third consecutive Winston Series pro stock victory, beating Mark Pawuk of Medina, Ohio., and driving 7.390 seconds at 187.14 m.p.h.
