PREP COACHES
Phil Henderson has been hired as the boys’ basketball coach at Brea-Olinda High School, Pete Boothroyd, the assistant superintendent for the Brea-Olinda School District, said Thursday.
Henderson, a Brea-Olinda graduate, has coached the last two years at Sonora. He said Thursday that he will be resigning as the Raider coach at the end of the school year.
Sonora finished 6-18 and was 1-9 in the Freeway League. In 1988-89, the Raiders finished 9-14 overall and 4-6 in league play.
Henderson replaces Rick Jones, who resigned last month.
Brian Flatten has been named the baseball coach at Pacifica, the school announced. Flatten, who is the school’s sixth baseball coach in six years, replaces Bill Craven, who was the interim coach for the 1990 season.
