WASHINGTON, D.C. : Energy Dept. to Turn Over Health Records

The Energy Department has agreed to turn over health records of a large fraction of its nuclear weapons workers to a research group, the department said. The data had been sought in a lawsuit by the Three Mile Island Public Health Fund, a group formed to study the health effects of radioactivity after the 1979 accident at the nuclear power plant near Harrisburg, Pa. The data was collected at installations at Oak Ridge, Tenn.; Richland, Wash., and Los Alamos, N.M., covering workers at those plants and ones in Mound, Ohio, and Rocky Flats, Colo.
