Venetos Cards 74, Leads Taft to City Golf Title
Jim Venetos scored a 74 to lead Taft High to its fourth City Section golf title in five seasons Wednesday at Griffith Park’s Wilson Course.
Trailing by a stroke after one round, Taft shot a five-man total of 398 Wednesday for a total of 816, beating the 847 of Granada Hills, which scored 430 in the final round.
“It’s a great way to go out,” said Taft Coach Ray O’Connor, who will retire at the conclusion of the school year.”
