HUNTINGTON BEACH — Two robbers tied up a video store owner and threatened him with a shotgun Thursday while they stole an undetermined number of videotapes and $100 in cash, authorities said.
The robbers walked into Odyssey Video at 16481 Springdale St. about 2:40 p.m. when no other customers were inside, locked the door and put up the closed sign, Police Lt. Roger Parker said.
The pair tied up the owner, identified as Tuyen Thien Dao, 53, of Irvine, with a telephone cord and spent about 10 minutes ransacking the store, looking for money, Parker said.
Dao was not injured.
Both men were described as being Asian, about 5 feet, 3 inches tall and weighing about 115 pounds, with short black hair. One man was wearing a white glove on his left hand, and the other was wearing a black leather jacket, Parker said.
