2 Men Wounded in Shooting; Drug Link Suspected

SANTA ANA — Two men were wounded, one critically, when one or more gunmen opened fire with a shotgun in a drive-by shooting Saturday evening, Santa Ana police said.
The victims were not immediately identified, but police said the critically wounded man was shot in the head and was not expected to live.
The second victim was airlifted to Mission Hospital Regional Medical Center in Mission Viejo. His condition was not immediately known.
The shooting occurred about 6:45 p.m. outside a house in the 1400 block of West Walnut Street. Neighbors and officers at the scene said the shooting appeared to be drug-related.
The crime scene was roped off with yellow police tape Saturday night while witnesses were interviewed by investigators. The neighborhood is about a mile west of the Civic Center.
