Fire Causes $250,000 Damage to Church

A fire early Saturday morning caused an estimated $250,000 worth of damage to a Mormon church in Sunland-Tujunga, a fire official said.
The fire started at 3:57 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at 7955 W. Hillrose St.
It took eight companies of firefighters 29 minutes to extinguish the blaze.
No one was injured and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
The fire caused an estimated $200,000 worth of damage to the building and another $50,000 to its contents.
