Replacing Quayle With Baker
So, the Republican strategists want to move Quayle to secretary of defense and make Secretary of State James Baker the running mate for President George Bush in 1992.
Wonderful. The “sissy rich kid” qualified to be a super-hawk by hiding out from combat in Vietnam by joining the Indiana National Guard.
In the Pentagon he could call for advice from another super-hawk, Ronald Reagan, who hid out from World War II in Culver City.
