Danny Everett’s time of 45.04 seconds for the indoor 400 meters in a meet at Stuttgart, West Germany, on Feb. 4 was rejected as a world record because the race had an improperly staggered start, the International Amateur Athletic Federation said.
Everett’s time bettered the world record of 45.05, set by East German Thomas Schoenlebe in 1988, but IAAF technical director Mike Gee said it can’t be accepted.
