Man Pleads Guilty to Rape, Kidnaping
A Long Beach man has pleaded guilty to the June, 1989, rape and abduction of a Torrance woman who was kidnaped after an early morning accident in which her car was rear-ended.
Larry Earl Climmons, 29, pleaded guilty to 15 felonies, including kidnaping and rape, but avoided the possibility of a life sentence without parole. Sentencing is set May 29 in Torrance Superior Court.
Still awaiting trial is Jerome Young, 27, also of Long Beach, who was driving the car that struck the victim’s vehicle.
