NAMES IN THE NEWS : Beaver, Eddie Go Turkey Hunting
WARSAW, Mo. — Eddie Haskell would never go turkey hunting, but the actor who played the smarmy lad on “Leave it to Beaver” would.
“He was too busy trying to make a dime,” said Ken Osmond, who played Eddie on the 1960s television series.
Osmond and Jerry Mathers, the show’s star, both took part last weekend in the 3rd Annual Missouri Invitational Celebrity Turkey Hunt.
Although Osmond is not from Missouri, he said it felt familiar.
“I love this place,” he said. “It’s like home. . . . My mother’s family is all Okies, and my father’s family is all Texans.”
Osmond resumed his role in “The New Leave It to Beaver” series, which ran for 105 episodes in syndication.
