The following is a summary of Southern California-related business litigation developments during the week of April 23:
Hughes Aircraft Accused of Race, Sex Bias: A former program controls administrator with Hughes Aircraft Co. filed a race- and sex-discrimination case in U.S. District Court, claiming that her former supervisor repeatedly harassed her, called her a name and said he wanted to run over her with his car. Henrietta D. Amezcua repeatedly complained about the supervisor, who eventually was fired. But Amezcua was forced to quit the El Segundo office because “there was no possibility of advancement” after she was labeled a troublemaker and ostracized in her department, she said. A Hughes spokesman said the company has not seen the suit. (Filed April 26, 1990. Case No. 90-2097)
