BROKEN FIELD: It turns out that Cal State Fullerton football star Mike Pringle (above) played last season on probation (B1). . . . Pringle, drafted Monday by the Atlanta Falcons (C1), pleaded guilty last summer to a misdemeanor petty theft charge. His school may not have known, but it wouldn’t have made much difference, says Titan athletic director Ed Carroll. . . . “There’s nothing the school can do” to a scholarship for an off-campus offense, he said.
