Balboa Park Celebrates Diamond Jubilee

SAN DIEGO — In commemoration of the opening of the Panama-California Exposition in 1915, Balboa Park in downtown San Diego will celebrate its Diamond Jubilee today with a variety of activities and entertainment.
An Easter egg hunt will be held at 10 a.m. for preschoolers at Park Boulevard and President’s Way.
At 11 a.m., a spring parade will feature more than 75 marching bands, clowns, baton twirlers and flag wavers.
From 1 to 6 p.m., the San Diego Rose Society will hold its annual Rose Show. Visitors can enjoy the first blooms of Balboa Park’s award-winning gardens and lily pond.
