Lukenbill Pleads Not Guilty
Gregg Lukenbill, owner of the Sacramento Kings, and three others pleaded not guilty Thursday to misdemeanor charges stemming from November’s defeat of a ballot proposal to build a baseball stadium in San Francisco.
The charges--three counts of violating the state’s government code and one count of conspiring to commit a misdemeanor--came after a grand jury investigation into a campaign aimed at defeating the ballot proposal.
Lukenbill allegedly helped defeat a pro-stadium campaign in the final days before the election with an illegal $25,000 contribution.
