I want to commend the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences for a beautiful production. Billy Crystal was the best ever, the ladies showed class with their beautiful gowns and there were no long speeches.
But does the public understand that the academy members vote for their friends in the industry? Or else why would you end up with “Driving Miss Daisy” as best picture (in essence, “a nice little picture”) and not even nominate the director of the movie? Or why was Woody Allen nominated for best director and his movie not nominated? And, what a joke, nominating Marlon Brando, who only had a cameo role!
