Wammack, Simpson Win Doubles Title

H. M. Wammack and Jack Simpson, members of the Hoover High tennis team in 1941 and doubles partners for 49 years, won the men’s doubles title in the 65-and-over division of the 56th Southern California Seniors Sectional tournament at the Racquet Centre of Universal City.

Wammack and Simpson defeated Peter Welsh and Ray Rough, 6-3, 2-6, 6-4, to win the title Wednesday afternoon.
