No Charges Filed in Bus Strike Death
REDDING, Calif. — No criminal charges will be filed in the death of a striking Greyhound driver who was crushed by a bus March 3 while picketing outside the Redding bus terminal, Shasta County Dist. Atty. Stephen Carlton said Thursday.
Carlton said the death of Robert Waterhouse was a “tragic accident,” not the result of malice or negligence by the operator of the bus, replacement driver Theodore Graham Jr., 42, of Portland, Ore.
After interviewing more than 60 witnesses, Carlton concluded that Graham could not see Waterhouse and did not know the bus hit anyone.
