UC Irvine Defeats BYU in Volleyball

Steve Florentine had 24 kills and eight digs to lead UC Irvine to a 14-16, 17-16, 15-7, 15-12 victory over Brigham Young in a Western Intercollegiate Volleyball Assn. match Wednesday at Irvine.

Also for Irvine (8-11 overall, 3-11 in WIVA), Mike Minier had 23 kills and eight block-assists, tying a school record set this season by Scott Recknor.
