Saugus 4, Ridgecrest Burroughs 2--With the score tied, 2-2, Saugus (9-2-1, 6-0) scored two runs in the sixth when John Albert walked with the bases loaded and Chris Hernandez hit a sacrifice fly in a game at Saugus.
Antelope Valley 6, Canyon 4--David Cooke had three hits, scored a run and drove in another as the visiting Antelopes (3-8, 2-4) upset second-place Canyon (6-5, 3-3) in a Golden League game.
Palmdale 9, Quartz Hill 3--Jim Carson (4-1) scattered seven hits and walked none, and Jim Ortega had three hits and three runs batted in for host Palmdale (8-3, 4-2) in a Golden League game.
Hart 4, Alhambra 0--R. J. Simone’s first-inning grand slam held up for first-place Hart (9-1-2, 6-0) in a Foothill League game at Hart.
Junior right-hander Keith Halcovich (2-1) and senior left-hander Andrew Lorraine combined on a one-hitter.
St. John Bosco 18, Alemany 9--St. John Bosco scored nine runs on five walks, four hits and two errors in the seventh inning of a Del Rey League game at Alemany. Joey Rosselli drove in four runs with a double and triple for Alemany (7-8, 2-4).
SOFTBALL
Newbury Park 3, Westlake 0--Senior Lea Lopez threw a perfect game, striking out 14 of the 21 batters, to lead Newbury Park to a Marmonte League win at Westlake.
It was Lopez’s second career no-hitter and first perfect game.
