Ballet Egyptian-Style: With the Pyramids as a backdrop and dance inspired by Islamic music, French choreographer Maurice Bejart will stage a new ballet in Egypt next month. Bejart said the ballet “Pyramide” will be based on Islamic music and will follow famous characters connected with Egypt from ancient to modern days. The ballet, which runs from May 17 to May 25, will be performed by the Ballet Lausanne of Switzerland. A stage costing $200,000 will be built in the desert.
