Sierra Madre Fetes Giant Wisteria
Sierra Madre’s annual celebration of its giant wisteria will be held today. The vine, planted in 1893, now covers nearly an acre spread over two private residential yards. “The Guiness Book of Records” calls it the world’s largest blossoming plant.
The festival will be held in Kersting Court on Sierra Madre Boulevard, where clubs and organizations will staff booths providing food and entertainment. From noon to 4 p.m. the public will be shuttled to view the huge wisteria vine.
Sierra Madre can be reached from the Baldwin Avenue exit of the Foothill (210) Freeway.
