Coverage of Gathers’ Death Brings Strong Reaction From Readers

I watched Lew Alcindor and all the great UCLA players of the John Wooden era. They were terrific and thrilling to watch. Could anybody bring that kind of excitement to the court again? And then came Loyola Marymount. Hank Gathers, Bo Kimble and the other running and gunning players brought a dimension to the game that was special and magnetic. Fans may never see this excitement on a court again.
