ORANGE : Janet Evans Chosen Race Chairwoman

Janet Evans, the Olympic gold medalist from Placentia, has been selected honorary chairwoman for the Fifth Annual ‘Round Orange 10-Kilometer Race on April 8. The race benefits abused and neglected children at the Orangewood Children’s Home.
Three races--a 5K, 10K and a children’s one-mile fun run--will start from Peralta Junior High School in Orange. The 5K starts at 7:30 a.m., the 10K at 8:30 a.m. and the fun run at 9:30 a.m.
The race is part of a monthlong annual campaign by the Orangewood Children’s Foundation to raise $235,000 for the Orangewood Children’s Home.
Entry fees, which include a T-shirt and pancake breakfast, are $15 for the 5K and 10K races and $8 for the fun run for children younger than 10.
