Bergman Wins Griffith Award: The Directors Guild of America announced Thursday that Swedish film maker Ingmar Bergman will receive the guild’s highest honorary award. Bergman will become the 21st recipient of the the D. W. Griffith Award for lifetime contribution to film. Previous Griffith Award recipient Robert Wise will accept the award on Bergman’s behalf at the DGA Award Dinner on Saturday at the Beverly Hilton.
