Chaminade 17, Harvard 7-- Felix Goodson, filling in for injured tailback Colin Havert, returned a punt 48 yards for a touchdown and rushed for a game-high 184 yards in 25 carries to pace Chaminade over host Harvard.
Havert suffered a shoulder separation Thursday in practice and will be out two to three weeks.
With 5:04 remaining and the Eagles (6-2, 2-1) holding on to a 10-7 lead, Goodson fielded a punt at the Saracen 48 and raced in for the score.
“Coming off a poor performance against Notre Dame two weeks ago, I believe I had to prove to the team--but most of all to myself--that I could rise to the challenge and deliver,” Goodson said.
Tailback Dan Kelly carried 10 times for 88 yards and scored Chaminade’s first touchdown on a 79-yard run. Harvard tied the score in the third quarter on a 20-yard pass from Adam Rowins to Scott Collins. Harvard is 1-7, 1-2.
