Two men have admitted digging at an Indian burial ground without a permit. Bruce Owens, 50, of Oak Run, Shasta County, and Frederick Lindauer, 55, of Manton, Tehama County, pleaded guilty to one felony count of unauthorized excavation of archeological resources on federal land. U.S. Forest Service rangers arrested the two men while they were digging with shovels in the Lassen National Forest about 30 miles north of Chico.
