Two days after having corrective heart surgery, Virginia Tech football Coach Frank Beamer said he plans to be back on the sidelines Nov. 4 when his Hokies meet Vanderbilt.
“I’m not a person that’s going to live in fear,” Beamer, 43, said in a news conference at a Roanoke, Va., hospital, where he has been a patient since Monday. The coach had a constricted coronary artery widened.
Beamer’s doctor said he could be released from the hospital Saturday.
