SAN DIEGO SPORTS ET CETERA : Padres Plug Into New Cable Deal for 50 Games Each of Three Years

The Padres and San Diego Cable Sports Network have agreed to a three-year contract to televise 50 games per season through 1992. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
San Diego Cable Sports Network has been televising Padres games on a pay-per-view basis since 1984. The network was contracted to televise 41 games this past season, but that was raised to 44 during the Padres’ stretch run.
WOMEN’S VOLLEYBALL
Angela Martin had 13 kills to lead San Diego State to a 15-9, 15-5, 15-0 Big West Conference victory at Peterson Gym. The Aztecs are 15-12, 5-6 in the conference. Lesli Lopes had seven kills for Fresno State (9-14, 2-10).
Loma Linda defeated visiting Christian Heritage, 15-4, 9-15, 15-13, 7-15, 15-12, in a nonconference match.
Melanie Barringer led Christian Heritage (6-9) with 10 kills. Loma Linda is 11-3.
JUNIOR GOLF
Todd Demsey of Rancho Santa Fe and Kristyl Sunderman of El Cajon have been named the county’s junior golfers of the year by the San Diego County Junior Golf Assn.
Demsey, 17, edged the 1988 winner, Chris Riley of San Diego. Demsey won six SDJGA tournaments, finished second twice and had a 72.93 stroke average in 16 rounds.
Sunderman, 16, won 10 events and finished second in three others. Carlsbad’s Leta Lindley was second.
San Diego’s Paul Spangler and Angie Yoon in the 10-and-under division were both named for the second consecutive year. Other age-division winners: Dean Wilson-Garbutt of El Cajon and Debbie Kim of Poway (13-14), and Greg Padilla of Rancho Santa Fe and Jessica Stiles of Coronado (11-12).
WOMEN’S SOCCER
Julie Manzer scored on an assist from Suzie O’Grady to lead San Diego State to a 1-0 nonconference victory over UC Irvine. The Aztecs are 4-3, UC Irvine 5-10-3.
