Bethlehem Steel Corp.: The steelmaker’s third-quarter net income fell 53% to $47 million. Revenue dropped 11% to $1.27 billion. The Pennsylvania company cited lower shipments, higher costs and the effects of unusual items. The company said it incurred $15 million in higher costs and lost production related to an unexpected outage of its Sparrows Point blast furnace and $8 million in losses from unauthorized work stoppages at its coal operations in July during a labor dispute at an unrelated company.
