Professor Selected as Cal State Trustee

SACRAMENTO — Gov. George Deukmejian on Wednesday appointed Gloria S. Hom of Palo Alto to the Board of Trustees of the California State University system. A Republican, Hom, 49, replaces the late Dale Ride of Encino.
She is a professor of economics at Mission College in Santa Clara and served as a member of the state Board of Education from 1984-89.
Trustees are paid $100 per meeting day, plus necessary expenses. The position requires state Senate confirmation.
