Thousand Oaks to Meet Nation’s Top Volleyball Teams

The Thousand Oaks High girls’ volleyball team, undefeated and ranked No. 1 in the Southern Section 4-A Division, today will take on what Volleyball Monthly magazine calls the nation’s best girls’ volleyball tournament field of the season.
The 14th Invitational tournament, which begins pool play at 9 a.m. at UC Santa Barbara’s Campus Events Center, features five of Volleyball Monthly’s nationally ranked teams.
Mira Costa, ranked No. 1 nationally, and second-ranked Clark High of Las Vegas are the favorites in the 25-team tournament. The other nationally-ranked teams include Corona del Mar (No. 4), Santa Barbara (No. 7) and Thousand Oaks (No. 13).
Pool play will be followed by a 16-team playoff at approximately 3:30 p.m.
The championship match is scheduled for 7 p.m.
