Westminster : Thief Makes Off With $749 in Sweat Suits
A man stole 15 Pierre Cardin sweat suits worth $749 off a rack at a Buffums store in Westminster Mall on Monday, police said.
The man was checking racks of clothing in the ground-floor men’s department at about 1:30 p.m. when a saleswoman approached and asked whether he needed help, Lt. Bob Burnett said.
He replied, “Yes,” then grabbed the fleece-lined sweat suits off the rack and fled out the door of the store, Burnett said.
Police described the thief as black, 18 to 25 years old, 6 feet, 1 inch tall and 175 pounds. He was driving a dark-blue, compact, four-door car with a license plate that ended in 58, Burnett said. The other digits of the plate were obscured by paper.
