Girl, 2, Fatally Injured by Neighbor’s Car
A 2-year old Azusa girl who was standing in the street was fatally injured when she was struck by a car driven by a neighbor Monday afternoon, police said.
Andrea Armenta was standing near the curb in the 500 block of Soldano Avenue when the auto driven by Benjamin Andrate, 25, pulled away and struck her, Azusa Police Sgt. Jeff Reed said. The toddler died 50 minutes later at Foothill Presbyterian Hospital in Glendora.
Reed said Andrate, who told investigators he did not see the child, was not cited.
