T. S. King of Hollywood wants to know if any restaurant in the Los Angeles area serves grilled razor clams . He had some in Northern California and loved them. Can you help whet King’s appetite, or will the realization that he might as well clam up be the unkindest cut of them all?

Suzanne Sim of Woodland Hills has a Nesco Home ‘n’ Away coffee-maker travel kit that uses regular home current and can also be plugged into the cigarette lighter of a car; however, the plug that fits into the lighter has been lost, and she’s wondering where she can get a replacement or a similar-type traveling kit. Can you help Sim before her hopes are dashed, or will she have to give up either caffeine or nicotine?

For Dorothy Scott of Santa Paula, who needed some paper for quill art, there are several sources to feather her nest. Locally we have Tall Mouse Arts & Crafts, 17506 Yorba Linda Blvd. in Yorba Linda, (714) 996-0101 (from Lois Frank of Norco). M. Soto says Michael’s (formerly Moskatel), 4240 Pacific Coast Highway, Torrance, carries some quill art paper.

For Carl Camp of Granada Hills, who wanted glue-on soles, we have some long-distance solace. Emma McDonald of San Bernardino says she has been purchasing glue-on half-soles from Hale Heel Co., Department E, Chipman Road, Middlefield, Mass. 01243. And if Camp’s shoes can take the long walk, Collin Hatch of Torrance suggests upstairs at the Woolworth Co. in the Del Amo Mall, Torrance.

Bernd Ahrens of Pasadena, who was looking for short-sleeved checked sport shirts, can get his checkbook out. Mrs. James Coen of West Covina says these shirts are available for $19 from L. L. Bean, Freeport, Me. 04033-0001. And a Los Angeles reader named Thelma said she would make some of these shirts for Ahrens as a favor if he couldn’t find them; she has a good source for the fabric. We have sent details to Ahrens.
