Long Beach : Redevelopment Director Hires Former Colleague

Susan Shick, executive director of the Long Beach Redevelopment Agency, has brought a former colleague on board as her redevelopment project officer. She is Barbara Knight, who has been acting director of the Glendale Redevelopment Agency since Shick left that position earlier this year.

Knight, who was an unsuccessful candidate to be Shick’s permanent replacement in Glendale, will come to Long Beach to fill a position formerly occupied by Raul Escobedo, who left recently to accept a job in the private sector.

Knight worked for Glendale for more than seven years before announcing her resignation last week.
