St. Louis’ Landmark Chase Hotel to Close

ST. LOUIS — The landmark Chase Hotel, home to presidents, movie stars and other visitors to St. Louis for 67 years, will close later this month, its owners said today.
The Chase Hotel Redevelopment Corp. said occupancy in recent years has been running at only 40% because of competition from new hotels in the St. Louis area. The 270-room facility, once known as the Chase Park Plaza, will close Sept. 22.
