The state Senate reversed itself and passed a bill to allow employees to use their sick leave in order to take care of ill children. A 21-17 vote sent the bill by Assemblyman Terry Friedman (D-Los Angeles) back to the lower house for concurrence in Senate amendments. The bill had been rejected by a 14-18 Senate vote last week, but the author received permission to seek reconsideration.
