WORLD : Mother Teresa Has Heart Attack

CALCUTTA — Mother Teresa, the Nobel Prize-winning Roman Catholic nun known for her work with the world’s poor, suffered a heart attack while already in the hospital this morning, her doctor said.
The 79-year-old nun’s condition stabilized and was improving, however, said Dr. A. Bardhan. He refused to give further details. The official All-India Radio reported she was alert and was visited briefly by the governor of the West Bengal state.
