Mazda Weighs a Luxury Line: Mazda Motor of America Inc. has formed a task force to study whether it should produce a luxury car for the U.S. market to compete with other Japanese auto makers’ upscale lines. Toyota Motor Corp., Nissan Motor Co. and Honda Motor Co. either have or will by the end of the year have luxury car divisions in the United States. The announcement was the first official indication that Mazda might do the same.
