Coyotes and Cats--Injured and Stolen
Coyotes are blamed for mutilating cats (Times, Aug. 27) as they are for the hundreds of dogs and cats reported missing during this past year--a 100% increase over previous years--taken during daylight hours in areas where coyotes do not exist. It is far easier for animal reg(ulation) officials to sight coyotes than it is to open an investigation. Pets are being mutilated and they are being stolen. And nothing is being done about it.
