LOCAL : Man Killed in Burbank Party Fight
One man was killed and two others were seriously wounded in a triple stabbing during a fight at a birthday party in Burbank, police said today. Two men were arrested after the attacks.
Sgt. Don Goldberg said a fight broke out about 8:15 p.m. at an apartment complex in the 2300 block of North Ontario Avenue. About 30 people were involved.
During the melee, three residents of the neighborhood who attended the party--David Robles, 25, Audiel Gonzalez, 21, and Mario Jovin, 23--were stabbed.
Robles was taken to St. Joseph Medical Center in Burbank, where he died about an hour after the attack. Gonzalez and Jovin were taken to Los Angeles County-USC Medical Center, where they were listed in serious but stable condition.
Police arrested Ramon Ambriz, 35, and Santiago Ponce, 21, on suspicion of murder shortly after the stabbing. Both men, who live at the complex, were being held without bail at the Burbank Jail.
Goldberg said investigators have not determined the cause of the fight. The incident was not believed to have been gang-related.
